Support to passive and low-energy-consumption building design (Green Buildings)
The objective of this part is to formulate conceptual building environment strategy, to ensure the consideration of reducing the dependent of climate and equipment from the preliminary design. By entirely understand the building requirement, environment design standard, local climate and site microclimate, we lay down related strategy, such as solar radiation control and shelter, natural ventilation and sunlight, thermal storage and natural cooling. The process includes closely coordinate with architecture, strategy appraisal by dynamic thermal environment simulation and lighting simulation analysis, offer proposal of performance of different design scheme.
 
Microclimate Research (sustainable planning/ green community)
This part discusses the effects on biology climate strategy and related construction design by major factors affects site microclimate. The target of study is to inform the design procedures before the starting of design stage and the confirmation of site planning layout.
The urban development causes the change of interior structure and external environment of city. There are two main aspects of influence from local climate: to create (or retain) the comfortable environment for pedestrian or resident; to generate harmful local climate to people physiologically and psychologically.
We can expect the influences to microclimate from development area by analysis contents below:
a.    Wind environment and its effect to pedestrian
b.    Shelter (or illuminate) of open space
c.    Main façade of buildings with natural lighting and sun illumination.
 
Utilization strategy of Energy, waste and water resources in site (green and low-carbon infrastructure)
a. Expert appraisal of local regulation, codes and standards.
b. Appraise the existing codes and studies about energy efficiency of site, these will be the basic of utilization of energy, waste and water resources.
c. Primary forecast of energy requirements/supply.
d. Energy forecast will take advantage of architectural thermal environment simulating result, and supplement by computer analysis. These include peak value annual energy requirement, to help the system selection.
e. The high-level energy requirement strategy will be given, such as renewable energy sources technology and efficient construction equipment system. The zero-carbon strategy will be established.
f. Appraise the possibility of waste management and comprehensive utilization of energy.
